Redding Brothers stay true to hometown fans

CHARLESTON, WV – Despite their recent move to Nashville, Charleston’s own original rock & roll band The Redding Brothers, in cooperation with The Heifer Project, will be unveiling their newest CD exclusively to their hometown fans in a one-night-only CD-release concert at the Charleston Civic Center Theater on March 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.

The band, which produces a classic-feeling, modern-edged sound similar to that of Dave Matthews Band and Matchbox Twenty, is originally from the Teays Valley area, more recently hailing from their new headquarters in Nashville, TN.

After emerging as one of West Virginia’s top regional entertainment draws in late 2005, in part thanks to their infectious debut album, Wisdom from the Green Shag Carpet, and in part thanks to an ethic of non-stop touring throughout the tri-state region for over 3 years, the Redding Brothers relocated to Nashville to “up the ante” even further.

But with the release of their second album, titled The Physics of Immortality after the Frank J. Tipler classic book, the band will be showing their loyalty to their dedicated West Virginia fans by giving them the first opportunity to get the new album before it goes on sale to the rest of the world.

Not only will West Virginia fans get exclusive pre-release access to the CD, listeners who sign up for the fan club before the concert will also get a 50% discount on up to 2 tickets for the Civic Center concert, and 2 free backstage passes for the night of the show.

“We owe it all to our friends back home for helping us get this far,” said Micah, lead singer and guitarist. “This is the least we can do for all their love and support for our band and for the music over the years.”

“Our Charleston fans have been listening ever since we played our first gigs in front of crowds of only 4 or 5 people, all the way to the last year or two here when people really started taking notice. They’ve stuck with us the longest, so I figure we owe them this much,” said Josiah, who plays bass and keyboards.

A portion of all ticket proceeds from the March 9th concert will be used to sponsor a milk cow for a third-world village through a unique charity called The Heifer Project, which provides animals such as goats, chickens, and cows to poverty-stricken families the all over the world, including right here in West Virginia. Donations will also be accepted at the door to go directly to the cause.

Tickets for the concert go on-sale to the general public on Friday, January 12th at 3:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com, and also charge-by-phone at 1-888-88-REDDING.
